Old Fashioned Apple Crisp

When the leaves start to turn and the air becomes crisper, it can only mean one thing: fall is here! And with fall comes all of the delicious comfort foods, like apple crisp. This recipe is made with Kate’s Butter, which gives it a delicious richness that will make your taste buds smile. And since we’re using fresh tart apples, you know this dessert will be extra-tasty. 4 cups of sliced tart apples
2/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup oats
1/3 cup Kate’s Unsalted Butter
3/4 tsp cinnamon
3/4 tsp nutmeg


  1. Heat oven to 375º. Grease the bottom and sides of a 9 x 13” pan with shortening.
  2. Spread apples in the pan.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix all remaining ingredients to create the topping. Sprinkle evenly over apples.
  4. Bake for about 35 minutes at 375º or until topping is golden brown and apples are tender when pierced with a fork.
  5. Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes.
  6. Serve warm with ice cream, if desired.
